A great gift for any meat lover or lover of salami and cured sausages. This range of four authentic Italian cured meat sausages includes one with sweet/dolce spices, one with piccante/spicier flavourings, another one classic called Sopressata and one with truffle pieces. 'Salami' is an Italian word to represent a family of coarse, dry, boldly seasoned sausages. The intense flavour of salami arises from the long curing process, during which the sausage matures in its skin. This process means that salami are safe and ready to eat. Use this fantastic selection to create an antipasti cured meat platter to enjoy with an aperitif, or put them on pizzas in thin slices, cut it in chunks and add to a stew or casserole for an instant hit of flavour or griddle them on the barbeque this summer!     · European and International delivery is available on this product for a surcharge (depending on the country). We anticipate that delivery will be completed within 6 working days but please be advised that international deliveries may be subject to custom delays.
    · Preferred delivery dates may be arranged up to 3 months in advance. This is a free service for weekdays. Saturday deliveries are available at a surcharge of £12.50
    · It is possible to arrange delivery to multiple addresses for different products within one order - select different addresses at checkout. You will receive an order confirmation for each address separately. This authentic Italian dry cured meat sausage has been appreciated since ancient times. According to Varro, the Romans learned the art of bagging meat near Lucani in Italy. This sausage was widespread in Rome by the legionaries who used it in the canteens of their camps. The "sausage" was made with pieces of meat and fat, cut into pieces and everything was seasoned with pepper, salt, sweet spices and were placed to dry in the smoke. It is an artisan product and we buy direct from the producer. Soppressata is a broader shape and is a speciality of Basilicata. Soppressata is fast becoming the trending topping among serious pizza makers. In 2018, it has been awarded a star at the <b>Great Taste Awards</b>, described "quite different from most of the salamis being made in England". No fridge needed before opening it.

According to Varro, the Romans mastered the art of meat bagging and curing in the Lucani region of Italy.
