Formaggio - Italian Cheeseboard

Ref: GF89C

£79.90
A luxury, gourmet gift of three special Italian cheeses; Pecorino (a hard sheep's milk cheese), Parmigiano Reggiano and a black truffle infused softer cheese and a wooden cheese board to display them on. We have accompanied the generous sized chunks of cheese with items traditionally eaten with cheese in Italy. Balsamic vinegar is poured onto chunks of Parmesan to bring out the flavours. Panforte is a 'cake' made of dried figs and walnuts - slice it thin and eat with the cheese. Torrone is a nougat made with mountain honey, egg whites and almonds - a traditional treat enjoyed at Christmas and perfect with cheeses. Sicilian olives, black olive tapenade, sourdough crackers, rosemary breadsticks, and red wine infused baked dough snacks are also included.

Sicilian Olives, L'Ulivo 190g

This Sicilian olives belongs to a special quality called 'Nocellara Etnea'. It;s a variety of green olive with a fleshy texture and uniform fruit size. Grown on the foothills of Mount Etna in Sicily, the volcanic soil giving them their intense flavour. Hand-picked early in the season, left to ripen in brine and later pressed one by one between two stones to preserve their taste and take on the marinade flavours. As described in novels by Verga, Pirandello or Camilleri, this traditional method was perfected throught the years.
